Wavetec, in collaboration with Perron Telecom, has configured and deployed a patient-flow and queue-management solution at CLSC de Chicoutimi in Québec, Canada. The deployment introduces a French-language ticketing and patient communication experience designed to support appointment flows and help organize patient movement within the healthcare facility.
CLSC de Chicoutimi operates within the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean. The facility required a localized, patient-friendly solution that could accommodate distinct appointment flows while integrating with its existing technical infrastructure.
Working together, Wavetec and Perron Telecom coordinated the configuration and deployment to ensure the different technology components aligned with the site’s operational and technical requirements.
The deployed solution provides patients with a French-language ticketing experience through a desktop TDU, supporting ticket issuance and the management of patient queues. French-language announcements further assist patients in following their queue progression and receiving service notifications throughout their visit.
The solution incorporates Wavetec’s Donatello digital signage platform to support patient-facing communication and announcements. Together, these components provide a coordinated approach to queue communication, helping patients navigate the facility and understand when they are being called for service.
The solution also incorporates Wavetec’s Spectra dashboard and reporting capabilities, providing visibility into queue activity and access to operational reports. This gives the facility an additional layer of insight into service activity while supporting its patient-flow management requirements.
Looking ahead, Wavetec’s Nexia AI ecosystem represents a potential next step in advancing healthcare operations. Through Nexia Consultant, organizations can work towards moving beyond monitoring operational performance to identifying what actions could improve it. By using operational data, forecasting and simulation, its capabilities are designed to help teams evaluate demand, test different service scenarios and receive recommendations based on expected outcomes. For healthcare environments, this could support more informed decisions around patient volumes, service capacity and resource allocation.
Accessibility and data protection remain important considerations in healthcare technology. Wavetec’s self-service kiosks are designed with ADA accessibility requirements in mind, incorporating considerations such as accessible reach heights, tactile controls and audio support to accommodate users with different accessibility needs.
This commitment is supported by Wavetec’s broader information-security and data-protection framework. The company holds ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certification for its information security management system, has attained SOC 2 certification and complies with GDPR, reflecting its focus on maintaining security and trust across its technology solutions.
The deployment at CLSC de Chicoutimi reflects Wavetec’s continued work in adapting queue-management technology to the requirements of healthcare environments. By combining localized ticketing, French-language announcements, digital signage and operational reporting, the solution provides the facility with an integrated approach to managing patient flow.
Through its collaboration with Perron Telecom, Wavetec continues to support healthcare organizations with technology designed to organize service journeys, improve patient communication and provide greater operational visibility.
