Summer is the peak season for the store, when the customer traffic and waiting times are at their maximum.<\/p>\n<p>In order to <a href=\"\/solutions\/customer-experience-solutions\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">optimize customer flow<\/a> in the store and ensure a hassle free queuing experience with minimized waiting times, the store\u2019s management needed an innovative, <strong>custom-designed <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wavetec.com\/solutions\/queue-management-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-schema-attribute=\"\">queuing solution<\/a> and digital signage solution<\/strong> and contacted Wavetec to present a solution for the customer journey management challenges at the triple-story store and its checkout area.<br \/>\n[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;7\/12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Solution<\/h2>\n<p>Wavetec\u2019s Customer Experience Specialists and its consulting partner company ITAB UK made several visits to the store to gauge the customer journey at the store, analyze the waiting times, queuing patterns, and customer flow.<\/p>\n<p>The Megastore has three floors. The basement has the brand merchandise, the ground floor has FCB\u2019s branded player T-shirts, and the first floor has a variety of sports gadgets.<\/p>\n<p>The visits and a thorough assessment of the store helped to develop an effective approach to the challenges faced by the store. Wavetec suggested a linear queuing approach and proposed its turn-key <a href=\"\/solutions\/queue-management\/linear-queuing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">linear queuing solution UNO-Q<\/a> to FCB Megastore.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;5\/12&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;21223&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1617321227447{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221;][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>HOW IT WORKS: <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Linear queuing works on the concept of electronic call forwarding (ECF) that results in a fast and fair wait management process. The ECF solution was installed in the basement and on the ground floor to deal with the massive customer footfall.<br \/>\n[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Ground floor: <\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At the entrance of the Ground floor there are two digital <strong>in-queue merchandising screens<\/strong> \u2013 Donatello Linea, which are 55\u201d LCDs hanging from the ceiling and are embedded with a <a href=\"\/solutions\/digital-signage\/media-player\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Media Player<\/a> to run <a href=\"\/solutions\/digital-signage\/software\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Donatello Suite<\/a> \u2013 a full fledge <strong>CMS for digital Signage<\/strong> from Wavetec.<\/p>\n<p>Donatello Linea screens alert customers about cashier zones available on the floor and also show estimated waiting times.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;5\/12&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;21235&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1617321788990{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;7\/12&#8243;][vc_column_text]The Checkout area is divided into <strong>five rows<\/strong>, and each row is assigned an alphabet \u2013 B A R C A. Each of the five rows has six cash counters, thus in total there are 30 cash counters on the ground floor.<\/p>\n<p>Each row has a numbered LCD display which blinks and changes color from red to blue when there is an open counter in that row. There\u2019s one central screen in the counter area that displays \u201cPlease wait here\u201d and blinks when a teller presses <strong>the Calling button to call the next customer.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When a customer enters the row, he or she locates the open counter and is served swiftly. This <strong>single queue \u2013 multiple counter call forwarding system<\/strong> is running smoothly and enabling the management of the store to efficiently organize and manage the customer flow at the ground floor.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row content_placement=&#8221;middle&#8221;][vc_column width=&#8221;7\/12&#8243;][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Basement<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>At the entrance of the basement, there is a Donatello Linea <strong>screen<\/strong> to alert customers about <strong>cashier zone<\/strong> on the floor and show <strong>estimated waiting times.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There is a <strong>10 counter system<\/strong> in the basement with a central LCD screen, and <strong>digital Position Display Units<\/strong> at each counter.<\/p>\n<p>When a cash counter is free, cashier presses a <strong>wireless call forwarding button<\/strong>; the central screen shows the number of the open counter and the PDU\u2019s show arrows pointing towards the open counter to direct customers in the <strong>single line queue<\/strong> towards the right counter.[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][vc_column width=&#8221;5\/12&#8243;][vc_single_image image=&#8221;21241&#8243; img_size=&#8221;full&#8221; css=&#8221;.vc_custom_1617321798495{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<h2>Integration And Advances Features<\/h2>\n<ul class=\"List-Style-Clr-Blue\" style=\"color: #3b3b3b;\">\n<li><strong>People counting cameras<\/strong> are strategically installed at FCB Megastore to record the number of customers entering and exiting a queue, and their waiting times. The linear queuing solution is <strong>seamlessly integrated<\/strong> with those cameras which send customer journey information to Wavetec\u2019s database; that information is then displayed on <strong>Donatello Linea screens<\/strong> to give customers an idea of the estimated waiting times.<\/li>\n<li>The central LCD shows row numbers which have an open counter, and separate LCDs are installed for each row so it is easy for customers to locate the row and go to the open counter.<\/li>\n<li>Wavetec has <strong>provided live reports and dashboard<\/strong> to the store\u2019s management which show information about <strong>average service time, average waiting time, peak serving hours<\/strong> This information brings transparency and helps the management understand customer flow, keep track of the waiting trends, and efficiently organize, engage and measure various aspects of their customers\u2019 overall journey.<\/li>\n<li>The management of FCB Megastore is really pleased with the solution.
